Sony is undergoing a radical shift in their consumer product line. Volatile market forces proved that Sony must remain agile and innovative against stiff competitions from Samsung and Apple. For the annual consumer electronics event, IFA in Berlin, Sony asked us to create an all encompassing and appealing brand space for their new, mobile focused product line
The concept dubbed, “Ring of Experience”, the design comprises of 10’ high x 100’ long LED screen, encircling the entire space, encapsulating the visitor with an awe-inspiring visuals and spectacles.

X-LAB is a trans-disciplinary practice working in all scales of projects in architecture, interior, product, and brand environment. We operate as both, laboratory and design studio engaged in research and practice of emerging issues and projects related to technology, design, and built environment.
XMANIFOLD A.D.R.L. (X-LAB) is a design and research practice founded by Dimitri Damiel Kim, Dipl.-Ing. Architektur, AIA.
Prior to X-Lab, Dimitri has previously worked with Testa/Weiser, LAR/Fernando Romero in Los Angeles, KY International, InForm Design in Hawaii, MD Lab, Schmidhuber + Partners in Germany, and with MAD Architects, JPDA, and DSA in New York on various built projects in architecture and design.
Dimitri is the curator of the global young architect’s exhibition, ‘Revenant: the Undeath of Avant-Garde Ideas in Architecture’. His architectural work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Honolulu, and New York, including the Pacific Design Center and Southern California Biennial at the High Desert Test Site. He is also the editor and publisher of the journal on advanced tropical architecture and urbanism, Prototropic.
Dimitri received a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design (M.Sc) from Columbia University, Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from SCI-Arc, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design from University of Hawaii. He is a fellow of Columbia University’s GSAPP Incubator at the New Museum in New York and teaches visual studies and professional practice at the Parson and New York School of Interior Design.
